About Your Session
Christmas sessions are different than my typical portrait sessions in that several are booked back to back so we can see as many families as possible, these are super fun and BUSY days! All sessions last up to 15-20 minutes, we will have fun and play "games" and add in some fun Christmas props! Your session includes 5 digital negatives that you can print and share (yes this means use them to make your Christmas cards with online software apps).

Free Parking available on both sides of the street. Please be mindful to not block driveways, sidewalks or the mail kiosk :)

Rescheduling
Life happens and that sometimes there is a need to reschedule - I get it! However, with a busy portrait event like this with limited dates and times there is no guarantee that you will be able to find another spot that will work better. If you click on your appointment details (in your original confirmation email) you will see an option to reschedule, this is the best way to check availability and move to a new date one time. Friendly Reminder: Your session fee is non-refundable if you miss/cancel your session for any reason.

Preparing for your session
The MOST important thing you can do to prepare for your session is for everyone (not just kids!) to come well rested, well fed and with an open & willing spirit. I want everyone to feel relaxed, to have fun, to be in the moment. If the grown-ups model a relaxed & playful disposition, the kiddies will fall in line and we’ll have a great time. I have seen it all I and I have patience out the wazoo so don’t stress if someone is having a less then camera-ready moment haha… We will get it all back on track! </p>
POSING
<p>If you are uncomfortable in front of the camera - don't worry! You are like most of the people I photograph - most people say they don't love having their picture taken at all. They might not know what to do or how to "pose". I really love just caputuring people together, interacting and I will help coach you into flattering positions and adjust things as I see them through my camera. Best thing you can do is be as relaxed as possible. I take lots of images - in different combinations (i.e. the kids individually, siblings together, the whole family, etc) so you have as much to choose from in your gallery, but if something doesn't work or you blink, that's ok! The best of your shots will be in your final gallery. </p>
What to wear
<p>You will all be awesome in whatever you choose, the main thing is the happy faces in the pictures, not what you're wearing! frequently asked questions
What is the backdrop set up for 2023?
This year's set up has 2 options, both are available during your session! Option 1 is best for posing the whole family together and option 2 with all its handmade paper snowflakes will be fun and whimsical for posing the kiddos. Wardrobe suggestions would be lots of neutrals, plaids, hits of red and hunter green!

Where are you located?
Sessions take place inside my home studio in Georgetown South, Halton Hills, Ontario. A heads up we have an 8 year old Cockapoo named Rosco! He will not be around during any of the sessions, but you may hear him "saying hello!" from his comfy bed upstairs.

How long does it take to get our finished photos?
Typically within 2-3 business days after your session you will get an email with a link to your online gallery where you will select up to 5 of your favourite images included with your package. You can order any additional images if you choose! From the time you select your images (and send payment for any extras) you will go into my first come first serve editing queue, your final images are retouched and added to your gallery typically within another 3-4 business days. I know how excited everyone is to get holiday cards and gifts ready so I keep this process moving as quickly as possible! This is the busiest event of the year and so sometimes it may take longer, please book early in the schedule to avoid disappointment and also let me know if you have a specific timeline you are hoping to meet and I will do my very best!

What should we wear?
A session guide is available when you book to help you prepare, including tips and suggestions for what to wear.

What if something comes up and we have to cancel our session?
I understand life is busy and things come up! If you need to reschedule closer to the event and is an open spot available then you are welcome to do so on time only. (You can do this yourself by clicking on "view your session details" in your confirmation email and see if other times are still open). However, this flexibility is not guaranteed as it's such a busy event. A friendly reminder that session fees are non-refundable if you have to cancel your appointment for any reason.

What can we do with the "digital files" can we use them to make online Christmas Cards?
Yes! These are .jpg files delivered to you via online gallery - you can share on social media, download them to your computer and then to your phones and other devices, you can print them at various printing stores, include them in your online Christmas card designs and albums (ie. shutter fly) and ENJOY with your family and friends.

Can we bring our pet?
I LOVE furry family members, however due to the busy-ness of the day and families back to back, space limitations and the well-being of any clients who may not be comfortable with animals, it makes this very hard to accommodate in-studio. Some exceptions apply - if there is a spot with a buffer before and after, so best to message me before you book to see if it's possible!

Can we take any pictures outside?
This is a studio event indoors) only, if you would like to book an outdoor session be sure to get in touch next spring/summer to book, there are lots of fun locations in the area to shoot at!

Can we get some photos without the Christmas theme or props?
My regular work is typically not with props or themes at all but at Christmas time we go ALL OUT! :D It's like Christmas has exploded all over the studio! Due to the busy-ness of the day and families back to back it doesn't allow time to change the set in between, so it's ALL about Christmas at this one! Regular family sessions that I do spring-fall are perfect for everything else :)
