Where are you located?

Christmas portrait sessions take place inside my home studio located in Georgetown South, Halton Hills, Ontario. YES I adore the outdoor set ups too BUT after so many years doing this, and from feedback I've received from my families who have done outdoor sessions, adding the "Canadian weather" factor in the mix is often more stress (and discomfort!) that I think we need to handle! LOL. A heads up: Our family pup is a cockapoo named Rosco, he will not be around during any of the sessions, but you may hear him "saying hello!" from his comfy bed upstairs.

How long does it take to get our finished photos?

Typically within a few business days after your session you will get an email with a link to your online proof gallery where you will select your favourite images (up to 5 are included with your package, purchasing more is totally optional). From the time you select your images (and send payment for any extras) you will go into my first come first serve editing queue, your final images are retouched and added to your gallery typically within another few business days. I know how excited everyone is to get holiday cards and gifts ready so I keep this process moving as quickly as possible! This is the busiest event of the year and so sometimes it may take longer, please book early in the schedule to avoid disappointment and also let me know if you have a specific timeline you are hoping to meet and I will do my very best!

What if something comes up and we have to cancel/reschedule our session?

I understand life is busy and things come up, especially with little ones and during the holiday (cold+flu) season! If you need to reschedule closer to the event and is an open spot available then you are welcome to do so on time only. (You can do this yourself by clicking on "view your session details" in your confirmation email and see if other times are still open). However, this flexibility is not guaranteed as it's such a busy event and at least 24 hours notice is preferred so another family could grab your open spot. No-shows will not be rescheduled. A friendly reminder that session fees are non-refundable.

What can we do with the "digital files"? Can we use them to make online Christmas Cards?   

Absolutely! Your holiday portraits are delivered as high resolution .jpg files delivered to you via online gallery - you can share them on social media, download them to your computer and then to your phones and other devices, you can print them at various printing stores, include them in your online Christmas card designs and albums (ie. shutter fly) and ENJOY with your family and friends.

Do we have to purchase more digital images?

Absolutely not! Five images are included with your package so everyone has a gallery of photos to enjoy forever! When you see your proofs you may wish to purchase more, but it is completely optional. Typically families order 10-20 extra images but every family and session is different so you do what works best for you :).

Can we purchase the "unedited" photos/proofs?   

Only finished images are available for purchase. The way I explain it is that it’s like going to the hairdresser, getting a fabulous cut, amazing colour and your stylist doesn’t want you to leave the salon with a wet head lol, they want you to leave looking and FEELING fabulous as a reflection of their best work. In the same way, I only want to deliver my best work to my clients (and also for any potential clients to see) so I only offer the fully edit images that I know will be consistent with your gallery and what you have seen in my portfolio :)

Can we bring our pet?

Quick answer - MAYBE! I LOVE furry family members, we have a cockapoo pup ourselves. Often sessions are scheduled back-to-back and some of my clients may not be comfortable around animals, so if you would like to do this please message ahead and let's see if we can find a time where I can block a buffer before and after your session. I will do what I can to make it happen! I suggest if your youngest kiddo is 5 or under, to save this for when they are older, or I suggest you bring a pet caretaker to wait with your pet outside so we can do some photos together first, once I know I have some keepers of the immediate family we can bring them in the mix and let the chaos begin lol.

Do you do any pictures outdoors? 

Let me say that while it is my favourite thing to take photos outdoors and with natural light - with an event like this, at this time of year - weather becomes too unpredictable and unforgiving and we could lose a whole day of sessions just at the whim of mother nature! Too often I have heard bad experiences when families have gone to events outdoors, too cold, too windy, the kids are too cold so their cute holiday outfits are covered under their winter coats. I admit the photos are wonderful when it works out, but in all the years I have done this event (comfy indoors on rainy, windy, snowy days), it's not worth the stress, the challenges or the risk of rescheduling. All that to say - this is an indoor studio event! But if you would like to book an outdoor session please message me, weather permitting we might be able to do something on another day, or in the late spring/early fall, there are LOTS of fun locations in the area to do a fun family portrait session outdoors.

Can we get some photos without the Christmas theme or props? 

My regular work is typically not with props or themes at all but at Christmas time we go ALL OUT! It's kinda like Christmas has exploded all over the studio lol! Due to the busy-ness of the days and families back-to-back, it doesn't allow time to change the set in between, so it's ALL about Christmas at this one. Regular family sessions that I do spring-fall are perfect for everything else :)
