Newborn sessions are a super special kind like no other. As I watch my own littles grow (somebody stop them!) I know how increasingly priceless these images will become to you and how truly fleeting these moments are...

Where do sessions take place?
Stay in the comfort of your own home - no need to bundle baby up to go out, or wrangle siblings out to a studio, I come to you. This is more of a lifestyle session where the baby's nursery, your living room and/or your master bedroom become the backdrop for your session. Every session is as unique as your family and space but take a peek at my featured newborn session for inspiration.

What can we expect during a session?
Newborns need a lot of time and patience. Sessions typically last as long as 1-1.5 hours so be prepared to hang out with me for a bit and not have any commitments to rush off to... we need to work around baby's comfort level and temperament so there is always lots of time for snuggles, diaper changes, and feedings. I typically bring along a couple basket and blanket options to pose babe alone, but I mostly find inspiration from your environment and use things that are personal to you, their crib and nursery.

Who should be at the session?
The most special thing about a newborn lifestyle session is your connection as a family so sessions are for baby(ies) and both parents. Of course siblings are welcome, even the fur-siblings if you choose! I often have mamas concerned they will not feel very "camera ready" with the changes in their awesome baby-makin' bodies. I assure you I am very sensitive to this when posing so breathe easy you are in good hands! If there is one thing I am SUPER passionate about is making sure mamas exist in their family photos, there are years ahead of you now to document the lives of these littles and to be the one behind the camera. But for now, this sweet connection between you and your baby, and your growing family is so new and precious - trust me, you will be grateful to have them to look back on forever...

When do sessions take place?

Newborn sessions take place in your home on
weekdays: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday mornings starting at about 10am. Sorry no weekend dates available.

How old should baby be?
​
Lifestyle newborn portraits are super flexible for timing, sessions are for any babe under 3 months - they will never be this teenie again so savour this sweet time but don't feel rushed or pressured that it has to be done immediately after they are born.
Posing is always safe and comfortable for baby and you, in fact, this is so gentle for baby because much of the shoot they are comfy in their parents arms and in their own environment.

When should we book?
Now! If you are thinking of a newborn session, it's best to reserve a spot BEFORE baby arrives.
Bookings are based on your due date - so if your due date is July 12th, we book you in for "July" and once baby arrives the actual session dates is set based on my next calendar openings. I only book a handful babies a month so that I can make my schedule flexible for when they finally arrive (and for any early or late arrivals!).

If baby is already here! No worries - your hands have been pretty full! Message me right away and if it's possible I make every effort to get you a spot if I can.

Newborn session fees include up to 2 hours to photograph the session and up to 30-35 fully edited ready-to-print digital files with Print+Share Release. You can purchase prints and canvas wall art separately once you see your proof gallery. Take a peek at my Newborn Price List for more information.
To reserve a spot your session fee and signed contract are due.
Once you book I will send along a link to your Client Portal and information on how to prepare, things to have ready, what to wear and more of what you can expect to be ready for picture day!

If you are looking for gift suggestions for friends and family, you can add photography to your Baby Gift Registry - this is one of the few things they will never outgrow (and boy do they grow fast!).

For what was a horrible situation [the newborn photographer they booked took their deposit and closed their business!] turned into the best possible dream come true for me.
